1. Michael Arias’s Tekkonkinkreet (2006)
It’s probably not fair that this movie is not only on this list but is number one on this list seeing as I have yet to watch the whole movie. My exposure to it up till now was of a 3 am viewing during which I fell asleep and awoke many times. However, the glimpses I did catch remained with me, and even without a plot that I could understand or even an awareness of the characters names, it stuck in my mind and has remained one of the most engaging animation styles I’ve ever seen, and I can’t wait to get a hold of a copy and watch it all.
